Holy Ground.

The place where people meet to seek the Highest is holy ground.

I saw this quote hanging inside a building as I was watching an online interview. It took me a minute to process what it meant exactly...and then it hit me.

It's so true.

anywhere. anyplace.

No matter where you go to seek Him...

it

is

Holy Ground.

I experienced this last Friday, April 1st. I had heard news that my dear friend had lost her son in utero and the news was devastating. As the family spent time with this little bitty boy getting to know him...see his adorable features and hold his precious hands....I realized that the ground we were standing on was holy.

so i removed my shoes.

I realized that this place...this hospital room, with all of its equipment and gadgets and unfamiliar objects was holy.

we had met there

in that place

to seek the Highest.

There were questions of 'why?' and 'how?' and 'how are you?'

and there was this distinct awareness that the ground was holy.

I saw the Mother and Father of this precious baby rely on their Savior as every passing second of reality set in.

I saw Grandmas and Grandpas and Aunts and Uncles and friends gather together to mourn such a heart-wrenching loss.

i saw the tears.

i saw hearts breaking before my very eyes.
(and felt my own heart break, too)

and i knew God did, too.

i believe that the ground we were standing on was sacred.

I believe God's tears poured ointment over these devastated parents...

their devastated loved ones..

and it really meant something.

People meet to seek the Lord all of the time.

in church buildings.

golf courses.

Starbucks.

basements.

closets.

restaurants.

cars.

woods.

hospital rooms.

classrooms.

No matter where you go to seek Him, you are on Holy Ground.

That kind of changes things, doesn't it?

maybe you should remove your shoes.
